Contest: Win an 8-week session of Creative Parenting Classes!!!

Guess what?  We are giving away an 8-week session of Creative Parenting Classes for this fall!  Classes start in September!

I had the pleasure of enrolling my son in the 3-year-old* Creative Parenting Classes session in Newtown and was very pleased with the classes!  After enrolling in the class we were sent a schedule and some paperwork about the classes.  When we arrived in class we were greeted by two teachers who work in unison throughout the classes.  Our classes consisted of a “meet and greet”, art time, toy time, circle time with weather & calendar time, music & dancing, and then storytime with a snack.  It is a very fulfilling experience with all of the activities and they are timed perfectly so that you don’t feel rushed, but, the kids don’t get bored either.  The classes were my son’s first introduction to group activities with other children and he really came out of his shell throughout the 8-week session.  If you are debating enrolling, I say give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed!

*The 3-year-old classes are 1 1/2 hours and the younger classes are 1 hour.  More details are below:

Canon EOS Rebel T5i, another GREAT family holiday gift idea!

I absolutely love taking and having quality pictures.  My current “good” camera is the Canon EOS Rebel T3i, so, when Canon announced the T5i, naturally I was curious and excited to learn more about it!  There are so many new advances in DSLR technology it is hard to keep up but when you are buying a Canon you can take comfort in knowing that you are making a great choice.  The Canon Rebel line of cameras are very easy to use and are very intuitive.  They also take great pictures!

PC Magazine says:
“Fast to start and shoot. Sharp, articulated touch-screen LCD. Compact. Nearly silent
video autofocus when used with STM lenses. 4fps shooting. Good image detail at high ISOs. Fast autofocus.”

CNET says:
The Canon EOS Rebel T5i retains the great articulated touch-screen implementation that’s optimized for video, and delivers the same excellent photo quality and solid video as its predecessor. Plus the performance is slightly improved.

Local boy on Jeopardy! tonight at 7pm!

I’m so excited I’m going to burst!  Bensalem’s own Ryan Elkins will be competing tonight as part of “kid week” on Jeopardy!  Kelly Miyahara from the Jeopardy Clue Crew is coming to his school in the morning and will be at the viewing party to help cheer him on when it airs at 7pm!

Many of you may know Ryan’s mom, Erica, as an administrator for some of the local “garage sale” Facebook groups (which is how I met her, but now I am lucky enough to call her a friend).

I hope you will watch and cheer for Ryan tonight at 7pm!  There is a teaser preview below!
